Responsibilities:

Programme Planning and Development:

• Lead the development of programme strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with the organisation's mission and vision.
• Conduct needs assessments and research to identify program priorities and target beneficiaries.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design innovative programs that address identified needs and align with best practices.
• Develop program budgets, timelines, and work plans.

Program Implementation and Management:

• Oversee the execution of programme activities, ensuring adherence to established timelines and deliverables.
• Coordinate and supervise program staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Monitor programme progress and evaluate effectiveness through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop and implement quality assurance measures to ensure program integrity and impact.
• Foster collaboration with external partners, stakeholders, and community organisations to enhance program outcomes.

Grant Management and Reporting:

• Identify funding opportunities and collaborate with the fundraising team to develop grant proposals and secure program funding.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including reporting, documentation, and financial accountability.
• Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, the board of directors, and other relevant stakeholders.

Evaluation and Learning:

• Design and implement programme evaluation frameworks to measure program outcomes, impact, and effectiveness.
• Analyse program data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
• Promote a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the organisation, incorporating lessons learned into program design and implementation.

Relationship Management and Communication:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with programme partners, stakeholders, and community members.
• Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and events related to programme activities.
• Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote program visibility and engage stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling programme-related content for various platforms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental management, Social sciences, international development).
• Proven experience (3 years) in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
• Strong understanding of program planning, development, and evaluation methodologies.
• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
• Experience in grant management, including proposal writing, reporting, and compliance.
• Ability to lead and innovate a team to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in data analysis and use of reporting tools and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, excel etc
• Knowledge of relevant issues and trends about climate change, environmental sustainability and ocean governance, mainly related to the organisation's focus area.
